Are these Drunk Elephant B-Goldi Bright Drops the skincare-makeup hybrid we've been waiting for?

Drunk Elephant's latest launch comes in the form of another epic skincare-makeup hybrid – the B-Goldi Bright Drops. Following the success of the D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Drops, Drunk Elephant had to come up with another drop that married well with other base products. The illuminating serum promises to be a game-changer for those seeking to fade hyperpigmentation, brightening their complexion and achieve a radiant and natural golden glow.

At the heart of this immediately effective brightening serum is a powerful blend of key ingredients like: niacinamide (for skin hydration, controlling excess oil and hyperpigmentation); diglucosyl gallic acid (an antioxidant that protects the skin from pollution and environmental aggressors); mulberry leaf extract (for improving skin radiance) and light reflecting pigments that revive dull skin for a natural and none overly sparkly finish.

Sitting at £33, a little goes a long way and you can squeeze out a couple of drops onto your serum, oil or cream for a sheer, golden glow and a boost of brightening benefits and antioxidant defense. Five GLAMOUR staffers decided to put it to the test, to see how it fair in different skin tones and types and here are their thoughts.

I love me a brightening product. Let there be light! Although I like me a multitasker, I'm sceptical at a one-size fits all. I know that this product gives you the most gentle wash of colour, a dewy and illuminating effect and epic skincare benefits and, since I loved the D-Bronzi drops so much, I was happy to give it a go. I love this classic and minimalist Drunk Elephant with the dropper which eases application. The texture is super lightweight, thicker than a serum and ideal to mix in with moisturiser or foundation.

Since my main skincare concern is hyperpigmentation, the niacinamide and the mulberry leaf extract in the formula are a very welcomed added bonus. I have to say that I noticed immediate brightness on application it blended seamlessly well with the rest of my skincare. Although it's undoubtably a versatile and effective product, it's not something I'd reach out for in my beauty cabinet, as I'm trying to strip back my morning beauty routine and I don't get max luminosity from this for the £33. Although, if you're a skincare but no makeup type girl, I think you should give it a hard go.

When Drunk Elephant said bright drops they meant BRIGHT drops. The brand knows a thing or two about viral beauty products at the moment (need I remind you about those bronzing drops?), and this is about to be another one for them. If you're into that glowing-from-the-heavens complexion, you'll achieve it with these.

Formulated with 5% niacinamide, its technically skincare as opposed to makeup... but best believe I'll be wearing it as a primer because that glow? Yeah. Obsessed. I had to take one point off due to the fact that, through no fault of its own, it made my spots super visible. So that's something to bear in mind if you also have acne.

After seeing Drunk Elephant's D-Bronzi drops take over TikTok with rave reviews, I was excited to test these B-Goldi Bright Drops. I've never actually tried any Drunk Elephant products, though I love anything that can give me a subtle dewy glow, so B-Goldi Bright Drops sounded like a bit of me. First off, I love the sleek packaging of this and the fact that they contain niacinamide. Anything that helps me better look after my skin without much lift I'm here for.

Applying directly on my cheekbones and other areas like I would with a highlighter, I blended in the drops until they created a subtle hydrated shine. The product gives an understated gold tint rather than the bronze of their D-Bronzi drops which I think I'd favour. Overall, I could definitely see this being a great glowy primer for those wanting a more shimmery finish and equally a more subtle alternative to highlighter. Though these are definitely multipurpose drops, the key with them really seems to be to create a cocktail situation with your other products, so I'll be mixing it directly with my moisturiser next in hopes of an effortless natural glow!

I’m a dry-skinned gal, so anything that can boost glow, I’m on board with. This offers up radiant halo skin without being super glittery which looks a lot more natural. I tried it straight onto bare skin and loved how juicy my complexion looked, but in the future, I’ll be adding a couple of drops into my foundation to give me some extra coverage as well.

I love that while it’s on your skin making it look gorgeous it also gets down to business with some hard-working skincare ingredients. Niacinamide boosts skin hydration and balances excess oil, while diglucosyl gallic acid targets inflammation and hyperpigmentation.

In some ways this product is a hard one to explain. If you're expecting to get a strobe-like highlight, then the B-Goldi Bright Drops isn't for you. Instead, it's more of a complexion enhancer with good-for-skin ingredients such as niacinamide. I mixed the B-Goldi Bright Drops into my normal face serum to make my skin look more luminous and alive on a day when I felt I looked particularly tired.

I also dabbed a little on the tops of my cheekbones. Having used the D-Bronzi Drops before, I was expecting a more noticeable difference to my skin. I liked the fact that the Bright Drops imparted a subtle glisten rather than a wet-look finish and it looked really pretty by day. But for a going out look I think I'd like a little more sheen on my skin
