Building work on a modern, two storey science suite and IT facility have started at Ysgol Bryn Alyn in Gwersyllt.
The former labs at the school will also be refurbished for general class room use. The contractor appointed to undertake the building and refurbishment works is local company Read Construction Holdings of Brymbo.
The works are part of a multi million pound investment into three secondary schools in Wrexham, the Maelor in Penley, Darland in Rossett and Ysgol Bryn Alyn.
Ysgol Bryn Alyn is already seeing the benefits from significant investment and pupils and staff have a new link corridor, their toilets have been refurbishment, the library learning resource is having a complete facelift, and there have been flat roof repairs.
Year 10 student Amy Faulks says:
'Well Science is a core subject so it's really going to help people get better grades. Science is one of my favorite subjects and it really will benefit my education.'
